FC Barcelona continue to work on reinforcing their attack and, with three days left on the market, the chosen nine is Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
A name that has already been mentioned in recent days and has gone ahead of lvaro Morata in the last few hours because Atlético de Madrid do not want the Spanish international to reinforce a direct rival in LaLiga, making the operation, which Barça wanted in the form of a loan deal, impossible.
The “Gunner” striker, also reported by Gerard Romero on his Twitch channel, does not play with Arteta and could be sent on loan in an operation that would favour all three parties.
In fact, according to MD, the operation is advanced, although it depends on the departure of Dembélé, which the Catalan club is still working on.
Dembele and his agent
The key is, once again, Ousmane. His agent, as SER Catalunya advanced, is open to negotiating an exit, but the club assures us that it will not be easy at this stage of January, but they continue to insist on freeing up the wage bill.
What’s more, if the Frenchman doesn’t leave, there is very little margin left to bring in anyone else as it will be used to sign Adama Traoré.
If Dembélé finally agrees to leave in the January transfer window, which closes on Monday, Barça could also sign one more player.
Aubameyang, 32, has made 14 appearances in the current Premier League campaign (12 starts), scoring four goals.
He was a team-mate of Ousmane Dembélé at Borussia Dortmund in the 2016-17 season. He left the Bundesliga for the Emirates Stadium in January 2018 in a transfer worth €63.8 million. His contract expires in 2023.
